The Eldorado product line is acquired from PPG to expand aviation product offerings.
2019
McGean® Acquires Met-L-Chek
Met-L-Chek® is acquired to expand aviation product offerings to include Non-Destructive Testing.

Cee-Bee® Establishes China Office
Cee-Bee® Aviation Materials in Xiamen, China opens to support Chinese Aviation market growth.

McGean® Singapore Expands Facility Capacity
McGean-Rohco Singapore expands warehouse, laboratory, and office facilities to support rapid expansion of the Asian aviation market.

McGean® Sells Metal Finishing Division to Atotech
McGean® sells worldwide electroplating, metal finishing, and electronic chemicals business to Atotech (USA/Germany). The sale establishes a strategic focus on Cee-Bee® Aviation Products, McGean® Specialty Chemicals, and McGean® Custom Chemical Manufacturing.

McGean® Expands to India
McGean® establishes joint venture in India for promotion of electroplating and metal finishing chemistry.

McGean® Expands to China
McGean® establishes a joint venture company in Wuxi, China for promotion of electroplating and metal finishing chemistry.

McGean® acquires the Electronic Circuit Board Chemistry
McGean® acquires the Electronic Circuit Board Chemistry business from E.I. DuPont.
1990
McGean® Expands to Singapore, Enters Custom Manufacturing, Acquires Specialty Polymers
McGean® establishes McGean-Rohco Singapore as a platform for growth in the Asian aviation and specialty chemicals markets.
McGean® enters the Custom Manufacturing business.
McGean® acquires Specialty Polymers business from MacDermid to increase its portfolio of metal finishing intermediates and adds additional custom manufacturing capacity.

McGean® Sells Antimony Products
McGean® sells Antimony Products business to Cookson Group (England) to focus on metal finishing, aviation, and specialty chemicals.
1980-1985
McGean® acquires R.O. Hull Company
McGean® acquires the R. O. Hull Company (Est. 1944) from Lubrizol Corporation and becomes McGean-Rohco, Inc. The acquisition establishes McGean’s expertise in electroplating and metal finishing technology.
Production operations expand to England, Mexico, Australia and Canada.

McGean® Acquires Specialty Chrome Chemicals
McGean® acquires Specialty Chrome Chemicals business from Diamond Shamrock, Inc. becoming a leader in trivalent chrome technology and products.

McGean® Re-Emerges
McGean® re-emerges as an independent private company with three business divisions: McGean® – Inorganic Chemicals, Cee-Bee® – Aviation Products, and Northwest – Industrial Surface Treatments.

Cee-Bee® Opens in England
Cee-Bee® expands to England to supply the European aviation market.

McGean® Chemical Company Sold
McGean® Chemical Company sold to Chemetron Corporation.

Cee-Bee® Expands to Japan
Cee-Bee® enters their first international Cee-Bee® license with C. Itoh & Company of Japan.

Cee-Bee® Enters the Aviation Market
Cee-Bee® laboratories develop a line of formulated products for the aviation market.
1937-1945
A 20-Year Expansion
McGean® acquires New Jersey Antimony Company to become a major supplier of antimony oxide. Over the next 20 years, McGean expands its product offerings to include electroplating additives, metallic naphthenates, chrome oxide, and catalyst-grade nickel, enabling McGean to act as a key supplier of nickel technology for the Manhattan Project.

Cee-Bee Laboratories Ltd. Opens in Los Angeles, CA
Frank “C“hampion and Dewey “B“arber establish Cee-Bee Laboratories Ltd. to manufacture industrial cleaners.
1929
McGean Chemical Company Launches in Cleveland, OH
John A. McGean and five partners incorporate McGean Chemical Company to produce inorganic and cast nickel anodes.
